Brand: Plum Goodness

Amidst the rise of skincare products full of chemicals, Plum Goodness emerged as one of the more natural brands from India. It is PETA certified, i.e., all of its products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

In addition to skincare products, Plum Goodness also offers makeup, fragrances, and hair care products globally.

Challenges

Despite providing cruelty-free products, Plum Goodness was experiencing some search engine challenges and approached WebSpero Solutions for the following issues:

  • Lack of Structured Data: The website lacked structured data, making it difficult for search engines to understand and display relevant information in search results.
  • Content Not Aligned with User Intent: Its content did not fully address user intent, leading to lower engagement and higher bounce rates.
  • Lack of Visual and Multimedia Content: Lack of images, videos, and infographics on blogs and product pages resulted in text-heavy content.
  • No FAQ or Q&A Sections: There were no dedicated FAQ sections addressing common user queries, which limited organic visibility for question-based searches.
  • No Focus on E-A-T: The content lacked authoritative sources and expert opinions, which are crucial for establishing credibility in the beauty industry.

Our Approach

To solve the challenges faced by Plum Goodness, we implemented multi-layered SEO and Generative Engine Optimization strategies (GEO).

  • Creating Content Around Common Questions: We analyzed Google’s People Also Ask (PAA) section and incorporated those into website content. Our content specialists developed blogs that directly answered most searched queries. 
    • For instance, we created a blog titled “What is the Difference Between Body Mist and Perfume?” which answered frequently asked questions like “body mist vs perfume”, along with a comparison table.
    • Similarly, we created informational blogs like “Wondering How to Get Thicker Hair? Here’s What You Need to Know.” This targeted specific keywords like  “causes of thin and dull hair,” “how to get thicker hair,” and “hair care tips for thicker hair.” We also added an FAQ section to address related user concerns. 
  • Focus on E-A-T (Expertise, Authority, Trustworthiness): To establish the credibility of the website, we created author pages that included author bios with relevant credentials to establish expertise. Likewise, we cited authoritative sources like dermatologists and beauty experts to build trust. 
  • Implementing Structured Data Markup: We integrated FAQ schema to improve Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) visibility. It also made the website more eligible for AI snippets. 
  • Adding Visual and Multimedia Content: By adding relevant, high-quality images and multimedia content, including infographics and tutorial videos, to the blogs and product pages, we boosted user engagement.
  • Regularly Updating Content: We optimized and refreshed existing content with the latest trends, expert insights, and updated statistics to help the website consistently climb in rankings.
  • Targeting Long-Tail Keywords: We researched and targeted long-tail keywords to increase Plum Goodness’ visibility for voice search and user-specific queries. For instance, we added FAQs and questions within blog posts like “What is the difference between body mist and perfume?” and How to grow your hair thicker?”
